Nearly 300 Ashrayan houses were damaged with hammers and shovels: PM

Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of India, sharply criticised those who have destroyed Ashrayan Project-2 houses for landless people.

She said that "in different places, some people damaged almost 300 houses with shovels and hammers, and the media captured pictures of those houses."

This was said by the Prime Minister at a meeting held at Gono Bhaban, her official residence.

"The houses were built for the poor. Some people are so bad that they have damaged the houses. "How could they do this?" She wondered.

According to the Prime Minister, there was corruption at nine locations under the Ashrayan Project-2.

Hasina stated that 1,50,000 homes have been built by the government and were handed to the poor during Mujib Borsho.

"A quarter of those with vested interests intentionally spread lies about corruption in relation to the houses. She said that some houses were damaged by landslides caused by heavy rains.

She stated that the government is moving forward despite all of these obstacles and challenges and encouraged AL workers and leaders to be more vigilant.

Hasina, who is also the chief of Awami League, thanked everyone, including the masses, for their support to make this project a success.
